Leonidas Oikonomakis holds a BA in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus (2005), and an MA in International Development: Poverty, Conflict, and Reconstruction pathway from the University of Manchester (2006). He is a research associate of the University of Crete, as well as of the Center for European Studies of Middle East Technical University in Ankara-Turkey. He specializes on issues around international development, sustainability, international migration, social movements, European enlargement. His regional interests include Turkey, Sub-Saharan Africa, Bolivia, Mexico, Pakistan, Greece.
